West Ham United was founded in 1895 under the name Thames Ironworks FC, in 1904 they moved to the Boleyn Ground stadium (Upton Park). Currently "The Hammers" are competing in the English Premiership, the club is preparing to move into the Olympic Stadium ready for the 2016/17 season.

The club has never been able to win the top flight of English football, their highest ever finish was 3rd in the 1986/87 season. They have won the FA Cup on 3 occasions (1964, 1975 and 1980), the closest they have come in recent years was runners up in 2006.
